Before you begin the effort to develop a successful list or develop a powerful sales page, you will want to start with a thorough introduction to landing pages.  In plain contrast to undifferentiated, unfocused home pages, landing pages focus particularly on capturing leads for a newsletter or making sales for a specific product– and make no attempt to give visitors a various alternative.
